Thank you for taking the time to look at the MedFN web site. In life’s journey, people are inspired to take different avenues. Some are by choice and others are thrust upon them. My inspiration for the creation of MedFN was the latter.

In 1986 I graduated from Michigan State University and was ready to go out and make my mark in the business world. After working for others for a while I started my own Insurance Agency when I quickly realized that most people do not keep a good account of their health history.

In December of 1997 I was diagnosed with cancer which I battled twice when it reoccurred in February of 2002. I beat the cancer when I received a stem cell transplant on September 16, 2002. It was during my treatment, that a good friend and doctor recommended that I keep control and play an active role in documenting all of my medical treatments. This can only be accomplished by keeping very detailed records of all treatment. I soon found out that keeping track of my medical history was an overwhelming task. All of the dates of procedures, doctor’s names, types of medication and duration of treatment were soon blurred together.

This is when I thought of the idea of Med File Now. In my initial vision of MedFN, it was to make a program that would give a person the tools to track the details of their medical history and provide instant information to emergency services. This was also to simplify that first visit to a new doctor, when you are handed a clipboard 10 minutes before your appointment and are expected to write your complete medical history from memory. MedFN will put you in control of your information wherever and whenever you need it.

I am confident that MedFN will make organizing your medical history easy. I look forward to providing a service that will be of value to you for many years to come.
